Go Organic Africa

Go Organic Africa (GOA), co-founded by Alphonse Twinamatsiko and Alex Atuheire, is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the livelihoods of vulnerable families through organic farming and permaculture practices. Working in Amatsiko students’ home communities, GOA empowers families to access clean water, cultivate nutritious food, and generate income through sustainable agriculture—all while rejuvenating the vibrant ecosystems of the region. Go Organic Africa’s flagship project, the Dream Village in Buzaniro, Uganda, creates a model of rural transformation using simple, local solutions, providing a model for other villages to replicate.

Founded by renowned primatologist Jane Goodall in 1991, Roots and Shoots is a global, youth-led community action program aimed at addressing environmental, conservation, and humanitarian challenges. Through Roots and Shoots, Amatsiko students receive educational materials and lessons equipping them to become positive change makers. In collaboration with Go Organic Africa, students gain hands-on experience with implementing sustainable agricultural practices. This experience nurtures a deep sense of responsibility and inspires a commitment to making a positive impact, especially when they return to their home communities.
