Help Us Build a Safe School for Our Children
Keeping Hope Alive for Students at Amatsiko School in Uganda.
On Friday, October 9th, students from Seven Arrows Elementary School in Los Angeles are coming together to raise funds for their fellow Amatsiko students. They will walk in the shoes of their Ugandan friends by carrying 40-pound jerry cans, filled with water, just as children in Kabale, Uganda do each day.
The students at Seven Arrows lost their school campus due to the Los Angeles wildfires in January 2025. Today, the students at Amatsiko School are facing a similar crisis. Due to a new government ordinance, their classrooms have been designated as substandard, and the government is threatening to tear down the school.
Amatsiko is determined to turn this crisis into an opportunity. We’ve identified a 5 acre parcel of land that can become our new, permanent home.
The new land changes everything.
The land is the first critical step toward building a more sustainable school facility that includes:
Permanent learning spaces built to government standards
Safe outdoor play and sports facilities
Fruit trees and nutritional gardens to feed our students
Rabbit and pig breeding programs that teach life skills while generating income
Space for future growth to serve more vulnerable children

For the past 11 years, Amatsiko Preparatory School has been a safe place for orphaned and vulnerable children in Kabale, Uganda.
It’s more than just a school. It’s a family — children are fed three meals a day, supported, encouraged, and given the chance to build a future they may never otherwise have had.
Right now, we are facing a situation we never expected.
Due to new government building regulations, our current school has been earmarked for demolition.
Our classrooms, which are simple wood structures with dirt floors have been deemed substandard.
If we cannot act in time, 420 children could lose their school.
For many of our children, Amatsiko is the most stable and supportive place in their lives.

When you sponsor a student, you’ll receive communication from your student twice a year and have the opportunity to support and grow with them along their educational journey.
We ask supporters to commit to a child’s full education through Primary Seven. Child sponsorship is $35 per month. Annual support is $420.
